冰融化了！食物不見了！一隻孤單的北極熊發現牠無以為家、無食可吃，為了生存，牠必需離開，但只有一艘小船能幫助牠遠離這個不再適合居住的家鄉，面對未知的明天，牠會發現什麼、去到哪兒呢？

這趟始於冰山融化、北極熊出走的生存之旅，陸續來到了三個地方，加入了三隻夥伴。牠們是被都市擴張所包圍，困在港口裡的熊貓；被濫伐森林所逼迫，站在樹樁上的紅毛猩猩；被盜獵象牙者追殺，躲在岩石後的大象。牠們結伴同行、尋找新生存地，卻在汪洋中慘遇大風暴。在穿越駭浪後，一座小島出現在眼前，島上住著已經滅絕的渡渡鳥⋯。

Frann was the winner of an amazing Sendak Fellowship and spent a month living with the great Maurice Sendak himself at his home in Connecticut, USA. She worked on The Journey Home during her stay.
