作者簡介：

Mo Willems 1968年生於美國紐奧良，以優異的成績自紐約大學Tisch School of the Arts畢業，Willems才華洋溢，被紐約時報譽為「二十一世紀最亮眼的新銳作家。」 (“the biggest new talent to emerge thus far in the 00's") 目前與家人同住麻州。進入職場後，Willems一開始是從事電視動畫製作及撰寫腳本的工作，製作的芝麻街(Sesame Street)節目，為Willems贏得六座艾美獎的殊榮，也為卡通頻道製作「城市小綿羊」(Sheep in the Big City)及撰寫「鄰家小孩」 (Codename: Kids Next Door)。 2003年Willems轉往繪本創作並成績斐然；首部作品《Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus》即榮獲凱迪克榮譽獎 (Caldecott Honors)，被轉譯成多國語言，風行全球並改編成音樂劇，之後以Piegon為主角開始一系列的作品：《The Pigeon Finds a Hotdog!》、《Don't Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late!》、《The Pigeon Wants a Puppy》等等；Willems筆下的小鴿子被紐約時報讚譽是近十幾年來最經典的繪本人物 ("the Pigeon is one of this decade's contributions to the pantheon of great picture book characters.")。之後也是獲獎頻頻以《Knuffle Bunny》及《Knuffle Bunny Too》，再度奪得兩座凱迪克大獎，而在2008和2009年也分別以另一部著名系列Elephant and Piggie 的《There Is a Bird on Your Head!》和《Are You Ready to Play Outside?》獲得兩座Theodor Seuss Geisel Medal。 Willems認為不同於電視，書籍的創作全由自己一手掌握有更多揮灑的空間，創作的原則是心中有讀者，但不要為讀者預想，希望每部作品開啟的是一個問句，而不是一個句點，讓作品有更多詮釋的空間，另外，插圖線條簡潔也是另一個特點，Willems希望自己筆下的圖，四或五歲的小朋友也能畫，沒有版權問題，Willems樂見每位小朋友畫出作品中任何一位角色。Willems作品充滿童趣，發掘內心真正的渴望，例如司機不在時，每個人是不是很想感受一下坐上駕駛座的感覺？探討情緒：嫉妒、悲傷、愛等等，很能引起共鳴深受大小朋友喜愛。 ◎作者官網：http://www.mowillems.com/ ◎照片取自作者官網
