Everyone is busy getting ready for Gloria's birthday, and Frances is not happy about it. Frances does not want to be a part of any birthday celebration that is not for her, let alsone one that revolves around her little sister. But when Frances realizes she's the only one who doesn't have a present for Gloria, she rises to the occasion and purchases a gift for Gloria worth two whole allowances. Buying it is easy, but actually parting with the coveted gift proves to be a whole other matter.
